I just wanted to put this out there. My wife and I were married Sept 2009 and we booked Joe about 9 months prior. In our experiance he was extremely proffessional, Presentation was excellent, and the food was outstanding. I give the man 5 stars.

I would just like to say you go girl.. There is no hand holding.. If you make what you want clear put your hard working money down on something and follow instrustions that you were given then you did it right. If it wasnt for where you had the reception place them telling you he had back out.. and yea that person who was caucky you no it is someone who has his best interest at heart…. Hope your wedding came out good.. I am getting married in wilkes-barre pa and I am currently looking around are area for places to have it and so on! Thanks for the heads up and what to look for.. Where were you from!@

First of all congrats on your wedding. Second, you missed the point. It was finalized. You completely missed the issue at hand. The fact is Joseph Caputo backed out over a year ago and never had the courtesy to tell me. And don’t worry, while I appreciate your concern this takes very little time and things are well under control. Can’t say the same for Mr. Caputo’s business however. The 15 minutes it took to purchase a domain and set this up is well worth making sure people don’t make the same mistake I did and trust the most important day of my life to Catering By Joseph. I have worked with many other vendors and they do not require hand holding. Joseph Caputo should get back into his original business and realize catering clearly isn’t for him. My issue wasn’t with his backing out. Sure that’s bad enough. However, I know exactly what happened. He figured I was a pushover and he could take a higher paying gig over my wedding and nothing would come of it. He rolled the dice and lost.

I am of course responding to this pretending that you don’t have some interest in Caputo’s business. Not that I am suspicious but believe me, I have played in the rep game long enough to know how this works. If I am making a wild assumption here, excuse me.

I myself just planned my wedding. I know the amount of stress and work a wedding is. I however kept in contact with all of my vendors to make sure everything was up to date. I had a long engagement also so I know you shouldn’t wait 4 months before the wedding to start finalizing everything. I think it is a little ridiculous that instead of worrying about your wedding you are complaining on the internet and ruining this time you should be planning and spending with your fiance. Get your priorities straight. By now I’m sure you have a caterer since the Tripp house has quite a few to choose from. Move on… there are more important things to worry about.

It’s simple really, when you have the menu set, a contract and a deposit in there isn’t much to communicate about. Also, he said not to be in touch with him until 5-6 months out. A better question is, if he had a wedding booked, why didn’t he contact us when he double booked an event in Europe over a year ago?

He tried to say that he hadn’t heard from us. Nice try but i was following his advice.

I have one question for you, WHY ON EARTH WOULD YOU NOT HAVE COMMUNICATED WITH THE CATERER FROM MARCH 2007 TO JUNE 2009? Seems to me that even with the Caterer’s mess up, you should have kept in touch with the guy. If it were my wedding I would not have waited 14 months to reconnect with him.

Agree 100%. I am just getting the word out. Not one word of what I have said is untrue. The biggest problem I have was the complete lack of apology or any type of offer to make things right. He booked this trip to Europe over 1 year ago and I never heard anything until I contacted him to finalize our menu. Very disturbing.

That’s so messed up, I just got married last September so I know the huge amount of stress you and your fiance are under…business owners should know better than to turn their back on good customers.
